“I know very few Mormons would consider themselves ‘racist,'” writes Natasha Parker Helfer, who blogs and podcasts as “The Mormon Therapist.” “Yet we consistently hear from members of color that they experience microaggressions. It is not their job to continually point these out to the rest of us. We, who consider ourselves caucasian or ‘white,’ need to educate ourselves.” This week, Sister Helfer encouraged her readers to pledge at Shoulder to the Wheel. To honor Martin Luther King Day, will you share our site or our downloadable guide with one or two friends and encourage them to pledge?
Shoulder to the Wheel’s BYU team will be hosting a booth and pledge station on campus in the WILK this Tuesday and two Tuesdays in the month of February. Volunteers needed; click here to sign up.
